OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Targeting Hope Gala 2015
A most memorable evening with OSHU accomplishing the historical challenge of raising $500 million to be generously matched by Penny and Phil Knight for a total of $1 billion.
Special surprise guest performance by Grammy Award winning and Hall of Fame artist, Carole King who performed 3 all time favorites to 430 guests at the Nines Hotel, Portland, Oregon.
Event and floral design included over 2500 red roses in 6 varieties, inspired by our Oregon tag line "City of Roses" and our states' commitment to excellence in cancer research. Artful details throughout the event were influenced by the hand crafted invitation prototype in gold and ruby red, enhanced by warm amber lighting and a stunning 36' mural of the Portland skyline at dusk on the stage. Special thanks to Rick Keating for his amazing skyline photograph; Rick Van Sant at B&B Printing for understanding my vision; and Justin Dean at Royce's Prop Shop for helping make it come together. As the backdrop for Carole King with the exceptional specialty lighting at the Nines, the look was truly magical.
